Rain Outside is a 2-hour ambient video blending calming visuals and modernist architecture. This 3D environment was firstly modelled inĀ Cinema4D to shape the foundations of the scene. From there, I brought the world to life in Unreal Engine 5, where lighting, materials, and rendering added depth, vibrancy, and an immersive quality to the final result. I also composed the ambient music and sound effects in Ableton Live.

The stylistic vision is a deliberate blending of natural and artificial elements, evoking a sense of serenity, introspection, and timelessness. The modernist and futuristic influences, paired with liminal and ambient qualities, create a dreamlike setting that feels both immersive and otherworldly. The emphasis on rain and water ties these themes together, enhancing the meditative and surreal atmosphere.
The glowing pool serves as a central visual anchor, highlighted by recessed lighting that enhances its inviting ambiance.
The furniture, including sleek lounge chairs and modular sofas, blends comfort with modern design. The use of neutral tones and streamlined forms suggests influences from designers like Mies van der Rohe or Charles and Ray Eames.
While subtle, the use of large, unadorned concrete surfaces draws on brutalist influences, emphasizing raw, monolithic beauty.
Rain-streaked windows add a natural, dynamic element to the scene, juxtaposing the rigid geometry of the architecture
The architecture features clean, angular lines and expansive glass walls, emphasizing openness and a seamless connection between the interior and exterior.
